A note from Matteo
Torrensville, South Australia
I grew up watching my mum, a single immigrant running her own healthcare business, pour everything into her clients.
She loved the community side of her work and the joy on people’s faces when they walked out feeling renewed.
But behind that happiness was chaos. She was disorganised, overworked, and constantly trying to catch up. The business consumed her. Her health deteriorated, her social life faded, and even at home, her mind was always somewhere else.
She owned that business for as long as I can remember, and when it came time to sell, all those years of effort amounted to very little. She sold it just so she could move cities, be closer to my sister, and finally take care of herself.
It broke my heart because it didn’t need to be that way. We can build a business that works without sacrificing our lives.
Fast forward 15 years, and I found myself in the same position. I was a non-present dad: unhealthy habits took over, and I missed countless moments because my mind was elsewhere.
One moment still hurts to think about: when my second child was born, I was back at work the next day. The business couldn’t function without me, and my wife was home alone with a newborn.
That moment changed everything.
I knew there had to be a better way, so I dug deep and that’s when I became obsessed with systems.
I learned everything I could about how to make businesses run smoothly and sustainably. My natural love for tech helped me find ways to simplify, automate, and connect the dots between people and processes.
Over time, through building and refining systems hundreds of times, I developed a library of frameworks and automations that I now share with others so they can avoid the same burnout my mum and I experienced.
I’m here to help practice owners and small business leaders enjoy the parts of their work that truly matter: their clients, their community, their purpose without giving up the things that matter most to them.
Because no one should have to choose between running a business and living a life.
